No. Lakes Resort Golf Club is an incorporated society with a 55 year non-exclusive licence to occupy and play the course. It is a privately owned facility where members have first right of play followed by stay and play guests and the general public taking up non-booked tee times.

The standard membership is called a Family Membership, which is defined as a principal player, spouse and children under the age of 18 at home for educational purposes.
A Group Membership allows a maximum of any four players who do not have to be blood related to become members of the golf club.
Corporate Memberships are available for companies wishing to take advantage of lakes Resort for entertaining guests.

The maximum number of family and group memberships memberships is 450 with an additional 300 residential memberships secured by property ownership within the estate.
Corporate Memberships are limited to 50.

Only if they are nominated as a member, or a a guest of a nominated member.

Club Membership allows the member to use the golf course and golf clubhouse facilities provided at Lakes Resort Golf Club and to attend Club sponsored events upon payment of the applicable dues, fees and other charges. Club members are NOT charged green fees for use of the golf facilities but ARE charged the applicable golf cart fees.
Privileges are also extended by Legends Restaurant and Bar by discounts on food and beverages, and through the golf Pro Shop.

Yes. Members enjoy an advanced reservation privilege for golf starting times.

A separate Corporate Membership is available for companies who wish to use the Membership to entertain guests or VIP.s

This is separate and different to a Family Group or Residential Membership that may be held in the name of a company, partnership, Trust or other form of multiple ownership.

Yes. Lakes Resort Golf Club will accommodate day guests and house guests without inconvenience to the members in accordance with the Rules and Regulations established by the club. Sponsoring members are responsible for the conduct of their guest.

Persons who have made application for membership will be required to pay a membership fee. The amount of membership fee and the manner of payment of the membership fee will be established by the club from time to time and is further described under the Membership heading under the section GOLF in this web directory.

Both residential memberships and private memberships are transferable and can be gifted; willed; traded; sold provided the transaction is carried out through the Lakes Resort Golf and Country Club Ltd transfer system.

A reserve list of prospective members will be held by Lakes Resort Golf and Country Club Ltd to be allocated for resale as and when they become available.

Yes. Upon the death of a member the surviving spouse automatically continues as a member as the membership classification is that of “Family Membership”.

If there is no surviving spouse or family member or the spouse or family member does not wish to continue membership privileges then the membership can be placed for sale through Lakes Resort Golf and Country Club Ltd.

A fee equivalent to the greater of $1,000 or 10% of the repurchase price is payable to Lakes Resort Golf and Country Club Ltd to handle the resale procedure.

The club will establish the amount of dues, fees and other charges to be paid by each member. The amount of dues payable by each member will depend upon the amount levied to Lakes Resort Golf Club by Lakes Resort Golf and Country Club Ltd. There is a restriction on the amount that the dues can rise in any one year being 10% of the previous annual dues.

No. Members are not subject to assessments for any operating deficits incurred in the past 12 months operational costs.

Yes. There is an advisory board whose members will attend and advise to the board of Lakes Resort Golf and Country Club Ltd.

Yes. Private parties may be held at the clubhouse with advance notice and approval and in ways that result in the least possible inconvenience to all members.

As residential sections, villas and terraced apartments are sold down, and as more membership are sold, the population of the Resort grows, and the pressure on available tee times increases. Within a short time frame we expect Green Fee paying golfers will find it difficult to reserve tee times. Members and in house guests will have preference over casuaL green fee players.
This will have a flow on effect on the demand for memberships.

Lakes Resort, Pauanui is a master planned integrated private residential estate and features a Recreation Centre with a café and casual dinning area, tennis and fitness centre, swimming pool, lap pool, golf and country club, 18 hole international championship golf course, golf practice facility with driving range, extensive integrated pedestrian golf cart pathways together with a proposed future hotel and associated facilities. Approximately 90% of the house lots have golf course frontage with most others opening onto parkland or open space areas.

Yes. Residents of Lakes Resort will be able to access all facilities within the development from their homes by golf cart by using a network of pathways, footpaths and trails. The golf clubs own carts will NOT be available for use within the community. With the exception of golf carts owned by Lakes Resorts residents no privately owned golf carts are allowed within the estate.

No. Dogs, cats and musteloids are prohibited under the terms of the resource consent issued by Environment Waikato. The area is designated a wetland reserve.
